BOCA RATON, Fla. (July 23, 2019) – The public voting has drafted “the finalist field” for this year’s Built Ford Tough Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl Idol talent competition presented by Marshall Grant, PLLC at BRIC. The final round of competition in the quest to find the National Anthem performer for the 2019 bowl game “goes live” on Thursday, August 1 at 6 p.m. when the eight finalists take to the stage to vie for the title at Boca Raton Innovation Campus, located at 5000 T-Rex Avenue, Boca Raton, FL.

 

Held during Boca Chamber Festival Days, the open-to-the-public live final round showcases the public-chosen eight finalists performing a “song of their choice” for a panel of judges and live audience. Attending friends, family and fans will have the chance to vote for their favorite contestant and a combination of those audience votes and judges selections will determine the top three. The three will then perform the National Anthem to determine the 2019 National Anthem winner.

 

The top eight finalists performing for the panel of judges and a live audience will be:

  • Hannah Crampton-Thomas, 20, vocalist, amateur, Boca Raton
    Student on full academic scholarship at Florida Atlantic University studying Criminal Justice; works at Starbucks
     
  • Maria Gabriela Esquivel, 38, vocalist, professional, Fort Lauderdale
    Student at Florida Atlantic University - School of Music; Artist/Author of “Gema, the Curious Butterfly”; Singer of “Musical Experience” at Boca Raton Regional Hospital -created to help heal patients through music.
     
  • Carla Hicks, 44, vocalist, amateur, Boynton Beach
    Works at Therapeutic Oasis of the Palm Beaches as a Care Support Specialist
     
  • Raphael Martins, 28 and Evelyn Martins, 31, vocalists, brother/sister duet, amateur, Deerfield Beach
    Raphael works at Language Line; Evelyn works at Mobile Help

The 2019 Built Ford Tough Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl Idol presented by Marshall Grant, PLLC at BRIC will get the opportunity to perform the National Anthem during opening ceremonies at FAU Stadium prior to the game being televised nationally on Saturday, December 21 on ABC. The winner will also receive 10 game tickets for family and friends, which include sideline access during the performance.

 

Admission to the August 1 live performance event is $35 per person and includes food and beverages. Proceeds from the event will benefit Spirit of Giving’s Back to School Bash. About the Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl2019 Game Moves to New Day, Time and Network
 

After spending five years on the Tuesday evening before Christmas and being aired on ESPN, the 2019 Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl will kick off “in the Florida sunshine” on Saturday afternoon, December 21 at 3:30 p.m. ET at FAU Stadium and will broadcast nationally on ABC as well as on ESPN Radio and locally on ESPN 106.3. The bowl game has conference 
tie-ins with teams from Conference USA, the American Athletic Conference and the Mid-American Athletic Conference.

 

As one of 41 postseason college bowl games in the country and one of 15 owned and operated by ESPN Events (a division of ESPN) the Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl is the only one hosted in Palm Beach County. As a celebrated annual holiday tradition in Boca Raton and Palm Beach County that lives up to its other name, ‘Boca’s Biggest Annual Outdoor Party’, the event features all the pomp and circumstance of traditional bowl events. It is a high-energy, entertaining experience for both college football fans and non-fans alike and allows the national spotlight to shine on Boca Raton and Palm Beach County. About the Boca Raton Bowl:

The Boca Raton Bowl is one of 41 postseason college bowl games in the country and the only one hosted in Palm Beach County. Featuring all the pomp and circumstance of traditional bowl events, the Cheribundi Tart Cherry Boca Raton Bowl is a high-energy, entertaining experience for both college football fans and non-fans alike and allows the national spotlight to shine on Boca Raton and Palm Beach County. This year, the fifth annual bowl game will have primary tie-ins for teams from Conference USA and the American Athletic Conference with the Mid-American Athletic Conference having a secondary tie-in. The team from Conference USA will make its headquarters at the Boca Raton Resort & Club and the American Athletic Conference team will be at the PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Gardens.

Built Ford Tough Tailgate Party

 
The 2018 Built Ford Tough Tailgate Party is a community event benefitting the Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl’s charitable partner, Spirit of Giving, where local restaurants will participate in a fun “tailgate” challenge to battle it out in a good old cook-off for local celebrity judges. 

To help turn up the heat and get the local community in the football spirit, all guests are encouraged to wear their favorite college colors and represent your alma mater with pride! This will be an awesome event to mix and mingle with various chamber members and football fans, try amazing local restaurant’s featured recipes, and enjoy your favorite spirits and beverages!

 

Built Ford Tough Great Chefs’ Tailgate Showcase

The competition is already heating up for “what’s cooking” at the fourth annual Cheribundi Tart Cherry Boca Raton Bowl Great Chefs Tailgate Showcase & College Football Spirit Night set for Wednesday, November 14 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Renaissance Boca Raton Hotel, 2000 N.W. 19th St., Boca Raton, FL.  That is when the area’s top restaurant, country club, hotel, cooking school and celebrity chefs and mixologists will once again ‘bring on’ their culinary and cocktail A-game to rally Bowl fans and raise funds to support Spirit of Giving’s annual year-end holiday gift drive.

The high-spirited, one-of-a-kind fundraising event offers an opportunity for area residents and businesses to network and join in on all of the fun pre-Cheribundi Tart Cherry Boca Raton Bowl countdown festivities. For this popular laid-back, casual networking and pride-rallying event, guests are encouraged to come out wearing their alma mater or favorite college team’s colors and jerseys. They will get to mix and mingle with other fellow college football fans and community partners, along with ESPN on-air personalities who will be onsite and broadcasting live.

As one of the lead-in events for the Fifth Annual Cheribundi Tart Cherry Boca Raton Bowl, the Great Chefs Tailgate Showcase takes a “Chef vs. Chef” approach in a friendly competition.  The culinary masters aim to please the palates of event-goers with their signature twists on tailgate classics ranging from sides and entrees to beverages and desserts. Each chef presents their culinary creation to a panel of expert foodie media, personalities and bloggers while guests as well get to cast their own votes for the “People’s Choice” designation.

“We are looking forward to seeing and tasting the ‘out-of-the-box’ entries, including those competing for Best Dish to Eat with a Beer, Healthiest Twist on Tailgate, and Worth the Extra Napkins, as well as the ultimate ‘People’s Choice’ and Judges’ Choice,” notes Doug Mosley, executive director of the Cheribundi Tart Cherry Boca Raton Bowl that is set to kick off on Tuesday, December 18 at FAU Stadium. “Each year the competitive culinary spirit ‘cooked up’ for this Bowl lead-in event gets more and more exciting, and all in good fun and funds for our Bowl’s charity partner Spirit of Giving and the holiday magic the nonprofit brings to thousands each year.”
